“I am excited to file for Attorney General. Washington is a place worth saving, and as the state’s next top cop I am ready to get to work. For too long Washington has been a good place to be a criminal. The FBI rated Washington as the 8th most dangerous state in the country, murder rates are up 96% since 2019, and we have the 2nd worst car theft & burglary rates. Enough is enough. As your next AG, I’ll fight for our police and prosecutors to have every tool at their disposal in order to clean up our streets and make Washington Safe Again. You deserve better.”Pete Serrano moved to Washington in 2015 to work for the Department of Energy as an Environmental Lawyer at the Hanford clean-up site. Pete is on the Pasco City Council and is currently the city’s Mayor. Pete and his wife PJ reside in Pasco, WA with their three young children. Councilmember & Community Leader Pete Serrano Announced for Washington’s Attorney General
January 2, 2024 Republican Pete Serrano announced he is running for Washington’s Attorney General. He released the following statement:
“Washington state is in trouble. Criminal activity is at an all time high. Fentanyl overdose deaths are skyrocketing and ripping communities apart. And no one is doing anything about it. As Washington’s next Attorney General I will make it my number one job to ensure criminals are prosecuted, drug dealers are incarcerated and our police officers know the state’s top cop has their back.
While I disagree with several laws in this state, as Attorney General, it will not be my job to pick winners and losers. I will use all the resources available to the office to defend the Constitution and the Constitutional laws of the state. I will provide a much needed check on government overreach. The days of emergency orders are over – they will be scrutinized and litigated if any office oversteps the bounds and duties as provided by the state’s constitution and laws.”
Pete Serrano serves on the Pasco City Council, a position he’s held since 2018, and is a practicing attorney in Pasco. Pete brings deep experience in litigation, environmental law, and government agency law, which he’s practiced since he was first licensed in 2010. Pete’s experience in these areas provide him a balanced approach that will allow him to represent all Washingtonians as the next Attorney General. Pete has practiced law in Washington since he moved here in 2015. He lives in Pasco with his wife PJ and their three kids. For more information visit SerranoForAG.com.
